Hundreds of men were at Ft DeRussy on Red River in Louisiana during the Civil War, both during its construction through the Red River Campaign. This book puts a face on the many Confederate men involved with the fort. There were local men responsible for building and manning the fort, as well as soldiers from other parts of Louisiana and TX who were there when the fell in March of 1864. Over 100 portraits inside.
