Despite the importance of cocoyam, little research attention has been given to it especially at post-harvest, thus considered neglected and underutilized. It provides food and is an income-generating crop for about 200 million people in the tropics. In Cameroon, it is the third most cultivated food after cassava and plantain thus, the importance of cocoyam to regional food security cannot be overstated. In this book, the researcher first of all identifies the different storage methods that traders store their cocoyam, then isolates the fungal pathogens responsible for cocoyam rot at farm gate and then identifies the fungal pathogens that infest the cocoyam after subjecting them to various storage methods. Inside, you'll find the incidence of the various fungal pathogens for different storage methods and the best storage method recommendation. The question remains: what organic substances can be used to prevent the incidence and/or spread of these pathogens at storage?
