Italian businessman Giorgio Perlasca has worked in Budapest since 1942. In 1944, he poses as the Spanish ambassador when the diplomat flees. In this role, he manages to save countless lives. This novel, which introduces readers to this hero, contains a moving letter by Perlasca's son.
