The stories you are about to read are all true. By that, I mean each story was either experienced by me or told me by a close friend or family member. Most of the stories told me by family members were told more than once by different members at different times. These stories serve up a variety of mixes that will contain something each of us likes. If you want to tell one of these stories during a group setting while camping or on a long trip, please feel free. Usually, this was where most were told me. We all have experienced astronomically unreal coincidences. Meeting someone who happens to be a wife of an old college friend or perhaps you happen to glance in a particular direction and see a family member from Oviedo, Florida, in downtown New York City. Some of these stories are about coincidences that outweigh the odds and seem too unreal to be true. You will be amazed at the odds in Corinne's Three. You will also find stories about real spirits or ghosts, as some call them. I honestly believe in life after death, and I also think that we don't quite understand the dynamics or physics that has to do with the afterlife. I believe in God and angels and that they play a significant part in our everyday life. Why, when, and where they come into action is what I don't understand. You can go to a haunted house a thousand times and never experience a visit, but your friend may visit that haunted house and see or feel or hear that spirit the first time and then never again. You will find spirits in the stories of Dead Man's Curve, The Confederate Soldiers, and The Lady in the House. There are things that some propose to see that go beyond the laws of physics. How can someone see a Phantom Arm that no longer exists? How can a whole family wake up to thing playing cards on their bed as in The Card Man? And how can sounds come from a church as The Organ Played On, without a person there to press the keys. The story about The Big Surprise is what inspired me to write this book about the homemade tales. I often tell this story, since I know it is a true story and was advised to print it and submit it for publication. I did just that and was published in the magazine Ezines as well as a paperback magazine in the late 1990s. I then decided to write down some of the stories that I had tasted in my life, and that is now presented to you in this book.
