This book gives an overview of the influence of effective microorganisms (EM) on the growth, development, yield and storage of vegetables and soybeans. The review paper is about the effect of EM on the yield and quality of tomatoes. Other papers revealed followed: EM influenced the growth of tomato transplants as they remained more compact with a greater stem diameter. EM improves the growth and reduces the nitrate content of cucumber, pumpkin and squash transplants. In a field experiment the yield of swedes was increased by EM treatment. Storability was not influenced by EM. The Ca content of swedes after harvest was higher in the treatment with EM than in that without. The yield of white cabbage was not influenced by EM treatment, although storage loss was lower with EM treatment. EM improved soybeans seed germination. To conclude, EM had a positive influence on the growth, development, yield and storage of vegetables and soybeans, with greater yields and less storage losses. Original finding: EM improved the greenhouse crops transplants, as they remained compact with a greater stem diameter.
