Ebro, 1938 is a literary approximation in novel form of the largest battle in the Spanish Civil War, which took place in the Ebro valley and which unfolded from July to November in 1938. While supported by a large amount of documented facts, this book opts for a unique literary style that some might even call risky. It employs a multi-voiced perspective, meaning that the narration constantly changes from person to person so as to focus attention on different historical figures and to see first-hand what happened in the trenches and on both fronts of the war.
