This book is about Joseph F. Yates and the trauma that has come with his life and all the people that have played a role in either contributing to his trauma or have helped him overcome it. Joseph's definition of trauma is a combination of events that he had to overcome to get to this point in his life. At some point in each of these events, Joseph developed relationships that had their own ways of affecting his journey. He felt himself becoming different. Trials and tribulations put him in corners where he had to make selfless decisions and focus on the progression of his family, even with the little he had left. It became critical for him to realize that his back would somehow be against the wall and the only way to get out of this corner was to focus on his destiny, feel the energy of lost ones and open his eyes to the entirety of a situation and not just parts he wanted to see.
