Downtown in Bloomington, MN

Downtown is an area of great complexity, diversity, and crime.
It is also an area with a great bunch of residents, business owners, and shop keepers who work together to try and manage their city in a fair and balanced way.
There is a homeless program, a revitalization and restoration project, and a downtown committee all trying to keep the community moving forward with positive changes.
They clash at times but they have Bob the local police chief who always steps in to try and help find a compromise.
Although crime is the big topic this summer and Bob knows all too well that it is on everyone's mind.
If you enjoy thinking about and talking about social issues you will enjoy this book.
The topics in the book address many issues faced by crowded downtown areas today and the story tries to example some balanced fair approaches to the issues.
The characters are delightfully entertaining and offer great diversity to the story.
