Synopsis An epic tale of a boy from the Westside of Chicago becoming a man. He is quickly becoming a product of his environment like so many do, but his intestinal fortitude demands that he is to be more than just another name on the block. In and out of jail numerous times, he finally decides to get his "game on straight," but is it in time to escape the ever alluring attractions offered by fast money and a hustling lifestyle? As serendipitous as life may sometimes seem, connecting to others makes his decisions even harder. While natural and simple as his choices may be, making the wrong ones could take him on a whirlwind; spinning his world out of control if he is not careful. A shining light, a beacon of hope, is his Mama Sally, a recovering addict herself, who tries to influence Dre in her direction; one of a path of righteousness and a higher driven purpose. However, after Dre's cousin Munchie and Uncle Terry come back to Chicago from Cedar Rapids, Iowa with stories of grandeur, Dre is immediately thrust into a tug-of-war. This war is not only with the demons that lay deep within him, but with the influences of those around him as well. His longtime girlfriend and those that he meets on the platinum and gold brick road, a road to riches, could require too high of a price to be paid; fame and respect do not come cheap. Will he escape alive with his honor and integrity intact, or will he fall prey, fall victim to the clichéd underworld that notoriously sinks all of those who cannot swim. If the quicksand of pride and greed suck him under, who will he pull in with him or will someone reach in and pull him out before he has gone too far?
