The journals Eckart and Hochland maintained a continuity of Christian intellectual thought across the ruptures of 1933 and 1945. Yet, they were also characterized by a deep ambiguity towards National Socialism. Although these journals are remembered today as hubs of the Christian resistance movement, they also advanced nationalistic and anti-democratic ideas.
