Deception of Magic

The Kingdom of Preveshawl was founded by God-fearing people. The Guide, (the Word of God) was used in their churches and in their schools. Centuries later, The Guide and prayer are outlawed in schools while magic, which was strictly forbidden in the past, has become entrenched in the kingdom. As war breaks out, each character grapples with spirituality on his or her own terms, some of whom confront humanoids and exotic creatures. Increasingly, they are battling for their very survival. Javin is from the Guild of Warriors and is grounded in the Word. He is one of the greatest fighters to ever come out of the guilds, but is handicapped socially. Gevi is a fiery, half-elven girl who is a true believer. She is a technology genius who struggles because of her early years, having to live on the streets as an orphan. Chellell is angry at God, for not answering her prayers. Though she grew up attending church, she forsakes God and turns to magic, as a source of power to grant her desires. Lily is an uneducated make-up artist who befriends Chellell. She knows nothing about God or the Lord of the Stars (Jesus.) Thunderfall is a grouchy dwarf who rescued and adopted Gevi. He is very wise in the Word and deadly with the axe.
