Dance of Blood continues the story of Lyla Haile which began in Blood of the Fallen. Lyla Haile has spent the last three months trying to accept her new identity as a half demon and simultaneously learn the ropes of the supernatural community. When vampire Micah Denton reappears with an invitation to the annual vampire masquerade and Lyla's friend Detective Harry Connelley asks for help with a case, it seems that life is somewhat returning to normal.
