Roy Rogers, Dale was already famous and successful before they met. Before she became a country star she was a well-known singer of jazz, swing and big band music. Her best legacy, however, is that of a country cowgirl, and her comics series is all that. QUEEN OF THE WEST: DALE EVANS first appeared in Dell Comics' Four Color Comics series #479 and 528. Her own comic book series QUEEN
OF THE WEST: DALE EVANS, began with issue #3 and ran for a total of 22 issues, from 1954-1959. The series contains the artwork of comic masters such as Russ Manning and Jesse Marsh, among others.
