The music on this fluffy release is so sweet that it's surprising the number of calories are not listed. Classical players are added to
Bolling
's regular rhythm section in different pairs for three numbers apiece (including flutist
Jean-Pierre Rampal
) but the results are consistently insipid and saccharine with very little improvisation by anyone but the pianist/leader. There is not much here to interest jazz listeners. ~ Scott Yanow
