Representation of events through language does not necessarily reflect the truth. The aim of this study is to show the relationship between ideological orientation of text-producer and his/her textualization strategies. The researcher has selected three texts, including two contrastive texts from Keyhan International newspaper and abc on-line. The third text is a political speech by Ariel Sharon. Working within the framework of CDA, there has been an attempt to show that the different representation of the same event by Keyhan and abc are due to different ideological stands that two reports under analysis have. Traces of ideology are also illuminated in Sharon's speech. On the light of the findings, it is suggested that there is a pervasive relationship between ideology and textualization strategies of the text producers. Regarding pedagogical implications, it is suggested that EFL teachers should not easily ignore the ideologies that are hidden in the texts being taught. Raising the learners' consciousness towards these pretextual factors can have fruitful effects on enhancing their abilities in language.
