Sally Milz is a writer for The Night Owls, the super popular late-night show on Saturdays. After a few break-ups, she is no longer looking for love. She is content with a few casual encounters, her professional success, and her close relationship with her stepfather. When her friend Danny Horst joins the not-so-exclusive club of men who date beautiful, successful women, Sally channels her distaste into a sketch called The Danny Horst Rule, poking fun and pointing out that the reverse would never happen for a woman. This is when Noah Brewster, a pop star with a reputation for dating models, is invited on the show. As they collaborate on different scripts, Sally asks herself if there are sparks flying. He would never date someone like her, right?
