Bangladesh is vulnerable to climate change related hazards mainly due to her geographic location. The objective of this paper is to assess climate change hazards in the study area, to explore climate change hazards related risks or impacts of poor people living in that area, to identify ongoing adaptation strategies and their response to cope with climate change impacts. The study was conducted at Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira District in Bangladesh during 2014. The study findings demonstrated that severe disasters such as cyclones, floods had affected coastal people in many ways including scarcity of resources, damage of houses, crops and fisheries, death to people and domestic animals, changes of land use pattern, present water body, drinking water sources and also occupation. The study exhibited that coastal people were trying to solve their problems through adopting and exploring alternative occupations, producing adaptive species, migrating towards town and participating women in work. My work touched a little part of it. I recommend local, national and international initiatives to find out the alternative options as well as carryout research for the options sustainability.
