Choosing Utah is a story about immigration. From a developing country such as the Republic of the Philippines to a developed country such as the United States of America, this book is about a single Filipino who describes his own decision-making or thought processes on which specific state in the American continent would he live in. Unlike the most frequently availed family-based petition, the author's unique self-petition in immigrating to the USA is such a rare & unique story. An immigration journey like no other, the personal narrative in this book highlights what led him to choose to live in the State of Utah, which is not a typical choice for many Filipino immigrants. Choosing Utah is also a story about a self-reliance experiment. An experiment to achieve upward mobility in life without relying from family, friends, and government.
