彩芹和乔书培，双方的家庭条件特殊，父母不同意双方来往。彩芹因家中生变而斩断情思，独自到外地生活，而书培则继续学业，但命运又使两人再度重逢。两人开始了共同的生活，由于经济的窘迫，彩芹不得不去歌厅弹琴，书培继续大学学业，社会身份的悬殊，经济的压力，家庭之间的隔阂，另一份感情的介入，都成为彩芹和书培之间的阻碍，使得他们渐行渐远，但是最终他们之间消除了误会，克服了阻碍，发现了自己的真心所向，于是在家人和朋友的帮助下，他们重归于好。
Caiqin and Qiao Shupei come from special family backgrounds, and their parents do not approve of their relationship.
