What if a man fell in love with a photograph? What if that man was a private eye? What if that private eye had been hired to find a missing young woman and it just so happened that she was the subject of that picture? What if that private eye was so overcome with emotions he'd never felt before that he could not for the life of him think straight? Bad, right? But what if that private eye had a friend named Spencer Hardesty? In this twenty-first Spencer Hardesty adventure, an old friend of Spencer's comes to him with the exact dilemma described during all that what-iffing. His name is Alex Blake and he's a tough guy, until he sees that photograph and the idea of what his life could be like sends him right up to the edge of the deep end. Luckily for him, Spencer's head is still on straight and he agrees to help but it takes his whole team, Emma, Trey, Eve and their newest addition Addison Grace to keep Alex from getting himself killed and taking the object of his affection along for the deadly ride.
