The poems in Broken Borders were written in Indiana, Massachusetts, London, England, Athens, Greece, and on the Greek islands of Hydra and Rhodes. A few of them were born in one country, grew up in a second and found maturity in a third. The poems’ creative births in various geographic locations is in harmony with the theme of this volume: the diverse landscape of the heart.
John L. Holgerson’s poems have appeared in literary journals such as Modern English Tanka, Shadow Quill Poetry, Popt Art, and Concise Delight. Broken Borders is his first collection of poetry. He is presently at work on his first novel.
