WE MUST PRAY FOR OUR BOYS: Sons, Grandsons, Brothers, Nephews, Godsons, Neighborhood Boys, Our Friends' Boys AND EVERY MALE CHILD! James 5:16 (The Voice) We have boys to help in this struggle. They need our attention, understanding, love, kindness, directions, guidance, and help. We must train them and show them how to do what is important. It is our assignment to rescue them with the help of the Lord. If we want to see a change in boys who are bitter, angry, violent, hostile and disobedient, it takes Spiritual guidance and leadership that is totally depending on God to intervene. Our little boys and our teenage boys will not function and be productive in life unless we seek God for His ways to mend or repair the brokenness and dysfunctional ways our boys. Allow the Lord to show you what to do for them. It is important to develop a relationship with them based on truth, patience, concern and prayer. Don't expect auto- matic results or a quick fix. Ask God to lead and guide you as you surrender to Him to direct you in touching boys' lives. If the boy or boys that you are trying to change are related to you, the most important things that you can do is to be honest with them. Be honest concerning where you failed to help them and be there for them. You must say you're sorry without excuses or blaming someone else for your shortcomings. Stop pointing out the boys' downfalls and only showing them their mistakes. You ain't perfect! It's hard and difficult to go along at trying to change your son(s), grandson(s) and other young men. Learn to lean on Jesus. Give Him an open door to come in and help you with them. Don't throw this in their faces! Let this be an inward direction and leading by the Holy Spirit. Stand firm and hold on to the Lord in prayer so that He will be your foundation.
