Bottom Up: A Story of School Transformation

A paradox of school leadership is having the dual role of being both a positive salesperson who emphasizes the school's strengths while also being an agent of change. Navigating the responsibility of publicly touting the school's accomplishments while having the insight to create an environment of continuous improvement for the most vulnerable, hard to reach students is a difficult tightrope to walk. is a guide for both changing a school's culture and improving its response to the "at-promise" student population. Designed as a book club selection for a school staff to read throughout the academic year, is a collaborative tool that helps educators find common ground and work together on school's most intractable problems.
