Despite its promises that Hong Kong would remain politically independent until the year 2047, the Chinese government continues to exert increasing control over the city-nation, much to the dismay of its suppressed citizens. Filmmaker Tze Woon Chan blurs the boundaries between documentary and fantasy to offer a raw, intimate portrait of life in Hong Kong, the anxieties over its future political climate, and the severe social injustices its people endure.
