Jay'lon Gordon is St. Louis born but Northwest Indiana raised. College student obtaining his bachelor's degree in Psychology. As a poet he describes himself as a mix of Rudy Francisco and Charles Bukowski, the darkness and unfiltered words of his poems speak volumes, but deep inside there is a child that wants to get out. He's a lost soul still trying to search for love and identity in a cold, unforgiving world. Blackberry Molasses is a poetry book, that plucks at every emotional string. The title itself is from a song of hardship and pain, and adapting to life's woes but never giving up in the process. It speaks of anxiety & depression, disappointment, heartbreak, thankfulness, joy, self-image and success. These poems are personal ones, with family, friends and even romantic experiences being portrayed into a storytelling art form.
