This book is intended to be a guide, a Bitcoin 101 crash course , written to make Bitcoin easy to understand for everyone. Unlike other long-winded investment books, this guide is a quick read for busy people who don't have the time to sift through pages and pages of information. I am in no means an expert or financial advisor but I have learned some important key principles that I want to share with you. As your knowledge base increases, you'll likely want to expand your knowledge by reading more in depth books, listening to podcasts and YouTube videos. I list a few of these resources at the end of this book. As the world continues to become more "digitized" in terms of the Internet and e-commerce, digital currencies will continue to gain more prominence and use. More digital currencies will continue to be introduced to the market and many will fail. Due to its strong foundations and future potential, I believe Bitcoin will succeed. This beginner's guide explains key foundational principles to help you gain a more thorough understanding of Bitcoin and its potential. Chapter Summary: Chapter 1 discusses key technology revolutions, why they were successful, and how Bitcoin compares. Chapter 2 reviews the foundations and history of money, explains sound money and gives an overview of the traditional banking system and the currency used today. Chapter 3 provides a thorough definition of Bitcoin, reviews its history, how it compares to traditional currency, and explains the creation process. Chapter 4 discusses Bitcoin's adoption by investors, companies, financial institutions, and countries, and what it takes for mass adoption to occur. Chapter 5 reviews Bitcoin investing including the reasons people invest, how they invest and the associated risks. Chapter 6 is a detailed description of how to buy, store and transfer Bitcoin. Chapter 7 explains government regulation and current tax implications. Chapter 8 outlines the pros and cons of Bitcoin to help you weigh your investment decision. Finally, I leave you with common terminology and a list of resources to further expand your knowledge.
