Bark and Bolt

Everyone likes to think they're brave, and Jessie Gallagher is no exception-not that she's ever thought that much about it. At any rate, it didn't seem like attending a book signing would require much courage, and under normal circumstances, it wouldn't. Lander Jones is a best-selling author with a fan base rivaling that of a rock star. He writes about thrills, he doesn't live them. Or at least he didn't until it became apparent that the odd little misfortunes occurring around him were actually deliberate attempts on his life. When Jessie is swept unwittingly into Lander's life-or-death drama, her courage fails her and she flees faster than a startled Whippet, leaving a dear one to face danger alone. Struggling to overcome guilt and shame, she knows she will have to dig deep to find her resolve and chase down the perpetrator before anyone else gets hurt.
