Backroad Ramblings

What do a videographer from Cincinnati, Ohio and a banker from Bay Minette, Alabama have in common? 'Nothing.' I know that's what you're thinking. One records events, the other records numbers. Film vs. finance. Then there's the division of the Mason Dixon line...supposed Yankee hurriedness vs. Southern languor. Commonalities? Bah! Yet despite geographical and career differences, Dennis and Amy have found common ground in their love for words and a shared sense of humor. These verses were inspired by the beauty that surrounds us. Oftentimes, we are too busy to notice how the light plays just so through the leaves, casting dappled shadows. Or we fail to notice the shapes in the clouds and the way sunbeams spotlight the sky. Maybe we see an old weathered bench and think of it as just a place to sit, never imagining the memories made there. We travel the Interstates to move quickly from place to place...we meander the backroads to savor the experience of the journey. These are the places where life happens.
