This is a second edition of the basic book, "Analysis of active and passive networks combinations". With this new edition, we have incorporated a number of minor revisions and added minor amendments to the previous text especially in the discussion of negative resistance. Analysis of networks and circuits has been using Kirchhoff,s voltage and current equations since their inception. These equations are used to analyze circuit behavior and obtain information on voltages and currents at several nodes or meshes within the circuit. When the network possesses more than four nodes, the manipulation between the equations become cumbersome, and might lead to errors. Linear equations can be written in matrix form. Using matrices techniques makes, the algebraic solution is much easier. In this book a method is developed, assisted by a floating equivalent circuit for a BJT, FET, and Operational Amplifier is used in order to perform the network analysis. Oscillator circuits, feedback circuits, and negative impedance converter circuits can all be considered as a combination between passive three terminal networks and active three terminal networks. Such networks are analyzed through out this book using the developed matrix method.
