Samy Y. Morcos, one of six children, came from an upper middle class family in Middle Egypt. He grew up in a tight-knit, loving family, brought even closer by a tragedy that took his mother away at a very early age. His school life was unusual at times, with periods of living alone with his older brother in his early-teens. Nonetheless he graduated college with a degree in chemistry at age twenty. His desire for higher study and a political situation in Egypt led him to come to the United States to realize his dreams. In 1968 he came to the United States as a twenty six year old legal immigrant with a college degree, five years of experience and $250. Through hard work, focus and dedication he achieved what he came for: a beautiful family, higher education and a better life. Is this not "The American Dream"!! As he has reflected on his life and that decision he made years ago to leave everything he knew to pursue his dreams, he felt compelled to write about his life and experience. With this book, he hopes to leave that legacy of hard work and dedication to his children, grandchildren and generations to come.
