THE wide and intense interest in Professor Bergson's Philosophy makes a detailed examination of it desirable ; and it is hoped that the method followed in this volume of dealing with the distinguished metaphysician's works in the order in which they appeared may have a double advantage, as the best way to test the coherency of the system and to mark the phases of its development.
