This book is a series of vignettes from the author's life. They may seem fairly mundane to others, but are important to him since it is the only life he has ever had. It traces his progress from his birth in California at the depth of the depression, to his rural childhood and lackadaisical youth in Oregon. He served in Korea with the Army Medical Corps and, upon his release from the service, he returned to his life of languor until his interest in a coed lead him to enter college to pursue her. The hoped-for relationship never materialized, but by then he had become engrossed in his course work in physics, despite his average grades. It was in college that he met and married his wife of 54 years. They had a daughter, struggled financially to remain in school, and eventually graduated together in 1961. He taught mathematics for a couple of years at his alma mater, then drifted into engineering work in order to live in a more rural location. Since his retirement, he has returned to the laid-back lifestyle of his youth, spending many happy hours in his recliner with his iPad, talking occasional breaks to mow the lawn, walk on the beach, and do a little traveling with his wife.
