All Destructive Urges Seem So Perfect

tends to swing between two sounds -- segments of the record fall somewhere between the solid Northwestern rock of early and the crunchy rock of L.A.'s bands, but takes frequent turns into twisted rock-outs that never seem to fare as well as their more melodic leanings. This makes for a somewhat spotty release, but not a bad one -- there's enough solid, melodic, and engaging rock on the album to make it marginally worthwhile. ~ Nitsuh Abebe
