About The Rapture

What would you do if you had a million dollar idea that would turn 85 percent of the population against you? Javier Johnston never stopped to ask himself that question. At 28 years old his life was mostly without direction anyway, so why not give it a try? Now his new business, Rapture Pet Providers, is making more money than he thought possible. But promising to care for peoples' pets when the rapture occurs is an enterprise that only an atheist could operate, and Javier finds that his business is bringing him more enemies than he could have expected. The list includes a powerful and ruthless man of the cloth and a beautiful but dangerously ambitious television news reporter. When anonymous death threats escalate into actual attempts on his life, Javier's pride won't allow him to be intimidated. As the approaching "doomsday date" foretold by the Mayan calendar fuels rapid growth in his business, other complications arise from the growing list of unusual characters populating his life. An ill-tempered neighbor with an obsession for his leaf blower, a wealthy lady with uncontrollable intestinal gas, and a church composed of Elvis impersonators all help to keep his life interesting...as do the gorgeous ladies that his money is attracting. Javier finds the latter impossible to resist, even as he begins to realize that he is falling for his secretary, Kristen. Javier's wandering eye threatens to destroy their burgeoning romance. Pride and lust are his weaknesses, and they may prove to be his downfall.
