Life is difficult, unfortunately most people make life much more difficult by making bad decisions that lead to bad life outcomes that create a troubled emotional living process that consumes them. This is characterized by a loss of purpose, meaning, hope and love, and we don't live well without these attributes. Along the way, we lose our sense of self, and our loving relationships, which is a steep price to pay. Life then becomes an empty experience. Poor mental and emotional health is the modern-day disease, which leads to a dysfunctional life. Sadly, people do not know how to change their dysfunctional living process and develop a reliance on mood altering behaviors to cope. It's what they know, however their mood-altering behaviors often become addictions, and then their decision-making is controlled by their addictions. The living process then becomes an experience of emotional misery with no solution in sight. The cause is a flawed self-definition that is the cornerstone for poor mental and emotional health that leads to a flawed thinking process controlled by impulsive feelings and emotions that was created during childhood. We all have emotional scars from our childhood that continue to shadow our thinking process. We can change our direction in life by learning to create an effective thinking process that has a healthy self-definition as the cornerstone for making good decisions. This will help to develop self-responsibility and learn how to love our self, create healthy boundaries that lead to making good decisions and to create a healthy living process. Then we can create experiences of meaning, purpose, love and hope, as we get on a spiritual journey. This is the best alternative to a troubled living process.
