A Safe Place

is a collection of poetry structured around the experience of an abusive romantic relationship. The reader will be challenged to confront the conflicting emotional journey leading into, during, leaving, and healing. This book is separated into four sections: Naivety, Chaos, Broken, and Resilience. Each section contains 20-25 poems. Although this is an emotionally charged topic, this book serves as a companion for anyone with shared experiences. Or as a window of insight for anyone interested in understanding the complicated emotional process of abusive relationships through poetic expression.
