A Mother's Last Breath

The Cold War was in full swing when two teenage boys drop acid for the first time. Brian's decisions and actions cause incredible despair to everyone and everything he touches, including his mother. His best friend cannot help him, and it is not until their drive into Death Valley where all becomes clear. What is the next step? Will the sheriff catch up to them? Does anybody care anyway? Three infant hawks hatch as their mother gently clears their air passages, not knowing she has begun the struggle for her own last breath.
