The liberal provision of public schools, together with compulsory education, has prevented the Weller sys tem from being adopted in this country, so far as the schools are concerned; but it is greatly to be feared that in the kind of education which depends upon the home rather than the schools, Mr. Weller's principle may be detected more frequently than we like to suspect.
