A Faithful wife

Passionately in love with Dominick Mayer, a poor student from Ingolstadt, Heike Kiesinger flees to America in 1951, to escape marrying Josef Der Graf, a young affluent lawyer from her own entourage. While she crosses the Atlantic Ocean alone, she is tormented by the reactions at home and the new life ahead. Dominick joins Heike upon graduation but their blissful marriage is short lived-Dominick is unfaithful. Heart-broken by their separation, Heike realizes she is pregnant.
