A Dynasty of Clergy named Archer

is the meticulously researched, historically illuminating and compelling study of five clergy from the same family. The story follows the five generations of clergy from 1500 to 1800 and it shows just how much the clergyman's role in society has changed from generation to generation. Before the Reformation, their task was primarily sacramental; taking masses, hearing confessions, baptising and burying. However, following each generation it becomes visible just how much the role has changed and evolved.
