Allāh has described His Book as guidance, the Right Path, the
Differentiator, a clear Book, and an explanation for everything. It is
guidance, guiding people to all they need to prosper in worldly and
religious affairs. It guides them to every way of success. It differentiates
between truth and falsehood, proper guidance and deviation, and the
people of happiness and those of misery by stating both qualities. It
illustrates fundamentals and branches by stating their proofs. Thus,
the Lord describes the Qurʾān, which generally encompasses its text
and applies to many verses.
In some verses, the Qurʾān confines guidance to the believers, the
righteous, the mindful, and those who read the Qurʾān to look
for the truth. Allāh thus clarifies the condition based on which the
Qurʾān provides guidance: it must be approached with acceptance
and intention of compliance to the truth.
