88 Keys: Poetry & Prose

is a collection of poems that explores the various stages of grief, mental illness, self-discovery, and heartbreak via intimate experiences from the author's own life. It navigates the horrors of marginalisation and rigid cultural expectation in order to find an identity that is unique and befitting of the author as a person outside of their adjectives. This is an excellent collection of writings--loosely inspired by the artistic styles of Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, and William Shakespeare but with a multi-cultural perspective and lens--that is a welcome comfort for anyone who has ever struggled with grief and loss, depression and anxiety, dysfunctional families and heartbreak, or the terrible tragedy of abuse.
