Your donation supports efforts like $1 provides 1 bottle of hand sanitizer: The hand sanitizer is used by and provided by Red Cross workers and distributed at sheltering facilities or through mobile emergency response vehicles in communities. $5 provides 1 blanket: Clean, packaged blankets, stored and ready for distribution nationwide, are typically given to people in pairs for padding their cot in shelters and covering themselves while sleeping. $10 educates 1 community member: This covers the cost to educate 1 member of our community on disaster preparedness through programs like Be Red Cross Ready and Hands Only Cpr. $25 provides a breakfast lunch and dinner and a blanket: During times of disaster, these prepared meals are served by Red Cross workers at shelters or Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles driving through neighborhoods. $50 provides a full day of food and shelter for 1 person: This service includes providing breakfast, lunch and dinner, the costs to mobilize and distribute a cot, two blankets and a comfort kit as well as the costs to support the Red Cross workers providing this service. $77 covers the cost to test, type and match a unit of blood for a patient living with sickle cell disease. As the most common genetic blood disorder in the U.s., it's estimated that over 100,000 people are living with the disease. $100 provides one caregiver of an ill or injured service member with peer-based support and services via our Military and Veteran Caregiver Network, and delivers one Resiliency Workshop to a service member or member of their family.
