Barbara (Bobby) becomes an army nurse in 1942. She is sent to England to work in a hospital where she meets Dallas and falls in love. They plan on getting married as soon as the war is over and settling down in her hometown of Tooele, Ut. Unforeseen events tear them apart and she becomes pregnant with their child. Raising Allas with the help of her father, Wes. Bobby never expects to see Dallas again.
Dallas is devastated when Bobby sends him away to marry another woman, the mother of the son he didn't know he had. He spends years thinking about Bobby and what could have been until one day, while visiting a friend's house he runs into her again and discovers her secret.
