This paper compares the professional groups in the higher civil service for health and nursing care with the professional group of nursing assistants in retirement and nursing homes. Specifically, the respective professional competencies and practical handling are presented. The aim of the study is to illustrate the difference between theory and practice based on the possibility of subdelegating tasks in the care sector between the higher service and nursing assistants. The conditions and organisational culture were taken into account.
