This work is devoted to the examination of problems in the theory and practice of the review stage of court decisions in criminal cases. Appeals and cassation are considered as two forms of challenging court decisions that have not entered into legal force. An analysis of current problems in the conduct of proceedings in the appellate and cassation instances is carried out.
