Helen was born in the South Side of New Castle. Her father was the main breadwinner of the family until he lost his job in a garment factory. Her Mum is a house wife. But when her husband lost his job, their relationship took a nose dive. Ultimately, Helen's dad abandoned her with her mother and moved to Scotland and set up home with his new girl friend. When they broke up he moved to London and took up a high flying job in one of bank.
