Milo McGee was a young boy annoyed with the pestering insects around him. After meeting a magical beetle, he is magically shrunk to their size and experiences their world firsthand. Through the guidance of various insects, he learns about their vital roles in nature, from pollination to decomposition. This immersive experience changes Milo's perspective entirely, leading him to appreciate and protect the bugs he once detested. Returning to his normal size, Milo ponders his new understanding of the insect world, gaining an important understanding of their importance to the planet.
