The destroyer USS Lamson was part of the US Navy from 1936 to 1946. Its service career spanned the search for Amelia Earhart, a deadly kamikaze attack on the third anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and a final "service" as a test ship at the Bikini Atoll A-bomb tests.
