Relentlessly paced album that finishes before the songs have a chance to fully register in the listener's mind. And the album design is so annoying it demands mention. The lyrics are enclosed, but only the truly patient will be able to read them, as each song is graphically laid out in a different pattern; some spiral, some in button-style circles, in short, a circular circus. Nevertheless, the quartet's tight harmonies are featured and there are three songs that provide brief bright spots in the otherwise so-so album.
"Sing a Song"
is the sixth track and is fun, sounds great ,and merits space on a list of dance numbers. The seventh track,
"Any Road, Any Cost"
is a lovely tribute to the Apostles who traveled with Jesus and their example of selflessness. And the closing track
"Circle of Friends"
is pretty good. Definitely not the best introduction to the quartet. Their Christmas album
A Christmas Story
is a much better place to start. ~ Dacia A. Blodgett-Williams
